Police: West Palm woman hit cousin with baseball bat during argument

A West Palm Beach woman was arrested on charges that she hit her cousin with a baseball bat in May after an argument about her cousins’ boyfriend.

Tomasina Agnew, 26, began talking with the cousin at an afternoon family function on May 25, according to an arrest report.

The conversation about the boyfriend continued through text message until the cousin said she was going to their uncle’s house.

Agnew showed up at the uncle’s house and started yelling at the cousin.

The uncle told her to leave but she eventually came back with a baseball bat and hit her cousin twice, once in the right leg and once in the lower back, the report said. Agnew again raised the bat and appeared to try to hit her in the head when another man stepped in.

Agnew faces a charge of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and was released under supervision.

PBSO: Fight turns bloody when man pulls knife on teen near Boca

A 20-year-old man was arrested after Palm Beach County Sheriff’s deputies say he stabbed another man in suburban Boca Raton last Wednesday night. The pair claimed to be mixed martial arts fighters.

Around 8:30 p.m. July 22, Bryan Muldoon was throwing rocks at an undisclosed home in unincorporated Boca Raton, causing more than $400 in damage to the window, according to the woman inside. After she called police, she called an unidentified 15-year-old, who she told deputies is Muldoon’s best friend.

Muldoon, of Fort Lauderdale, and the teen fought until Muldoon got on top and began stabbing him, according to the report.

Witnesses said the teen screamed out, “He is stabbing me!”

After the teen was able to get up, Muldoon and the woman who initially called 911 tried to help the teen with his wounds.

Though Muldoon told deputies he used a rock to injure the teen, witnesses not only said they saw a knife, they put the bloody weapon aside for authorities, according to the report.

Though it’s not mentioned in the arrest report, the two men told deputies that they were MMA fighters, according to PBSO.

Muldoon faces charges of aggravated battery and property damage. As of Thursday afternoon, Muldoon remains in the Palm Beach County jail on $54,500 bond.

Muldoon does not appear to have any previous arrests in Palm Beach or Broward counties.

West Palm Beach felon gets 15-year sentence on gun charge

A West Palm Beach man has been sentenced to 15 years in prison after pleading guilty to being a felon in possession of a firearm.

Presner Telusme, 30, was arrested at his West Palm Beach after officers from several agencies served a search warrant and found him to be in possession of a stolen firearm. The arrest was made as the result of the Project Safe Neighborhood Partnership, a program involving federal, state and local law enforcement that aims to “dismantle the most violent criminal networks” in neighborhoods throughout the country, according to the U.S. Attorney’s office.

Telusme has a long arrest history. He’s been arrested 19 times in Palm Beach County since January, 2006. Telusme was sentenced in April, 2008 to a year and a day in state prison after he was convicted of two counts of selling cocaine and one county of fleeing and eluding police. He was released after serving less than eight months.

Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office is seeking help to identify a serial killer’s victim, murdered 21 years ago.

PBSO released a drawing and computer-generated rendering of woman killed two decades ago by infamous serial killer Keith Hunter Jesperson, also known as “The Happy Face Killer.”

Jesperson, a truck driver at the time, murdered eight women in six states — Nebraska, California, Florida, Washington, Oregon and Wyoming — between 1990 and 1995. The woman in the drawing, possibly named Suzy, Susan or Suzanne, was his sixth victim, PBSO reports. She was killed in Florida and likely from South Florida or Nevada, according to police.

Jesperson earned his nickname by leaving messages at truck stops or sending them to the media describing his murders. They were always signed with a happy face.

Two men and a juvenile were arrested last Friday by Palm Beach Gardens police after they were allegedly found to be in possession of guns and drugs, according to an arrest report.

Adrian Bowen, of Palm Beach Gardens, is facing charges of using or displaying a firearm during a felony, trafficking methamphetamine over 14 grams, contributing to the delinquency of a minor and possession of an altered firearm.

Nicholas Ducezil, also of Palm Beach Gardens, is facing charges of trafficking cocaine, using or displaying a firearm during a felony, trafficking methamphetamine and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Bowen, 20, and Ducezil, 19, were both released from the Palm Beach County Jail Sunday after posting bonds of $20,000.

According to the arrest report, the unidentified juvenile is also facing charges of possession of a firearm by a minor and possession of a controlled substance.

Police said they stopped a Chevrolet Impala driven by Bowen after a records check revealed the license tag did not belong to the Chevrolet.

After receiving permission from Bowen to check the car, police found cocaine, methamphetamine and a pair of handguns, each with bullets in the chamber.

The juvenile told police that Bowen and Ducezil handed him drugs and one of the guns to hide when they were pulled over.

PBSO: Burglar falls asleep in Lake Worth home after stealing chicken wings, beer

A Lake Worth family fresh from a trip to the beach Monday came home to find chicken bones and empty beer bottles on their kitchen floor, their personal items scattered throughout the home and an unknown man asleep on their couch, according to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office.

Jacob Miller, 22, was woken up by deputies and placed under arrest in the home on the 1100 block of South K Street. Once deputies removed Miller from the home, deputies found numerous items of jewelry on the man that belonged to the family as well as half-eaten food items all over the kitchen, according to the report.

Miller told deputies that he went into the home because he needed somewhere to stay, but refused to answer any other questions.

Miller remains in the Palm Beach County jail without bail on charges of burglary and theft. Deputies also discovered Miller has an open warrant in Texas for burglary, according to the report.

A mug shot for Miller was not immediately available.

A 22-year-old, 19-year-old and 17-year-old are accused of stealing bottles of champagne from grocery stores along the East Coast from Miami to Port St. Lucie, Port St. Lucie Police report.

The suspects were arrested Wednesday around 4:45 p.m. after stealing five bottles of champagne from a Publix in Port St. Lucie, police report.

Lily Lilian Barillas, 22, and Marcos Raul Benitez, 19, stole the five bottles of champagne from the Publix at Rivergate Plaza, on Port St. Lucie Boulevard between Federal Highway and the Florida Turnpike. They hid the champagne in Barillas’ purse, police report.

They headed to a get-away car waiting in the parking lot, driven by the 17-year-old suspect, but were intercepted by officers, according to police.

The three suspects, all Hialeah residents, drove up the east coast from the Miami area stealing champagne from different grocery stores, according to Port St. Lucie Police.

Barillas and Benitez were arrested for retail theft and taken to the St. Lucie County Jail.  The 17-year-old was arrested for retail theft and taken to the Juvenile Detention Center.

A 22-year-old man was arrested Thursday and is facing charges he deliberately set fire to a West Palm Beach residence.

Rosalindo Dominguez Jimenez is facing arson charges in connection to a fire on the 600 block of 34 Street that took place around 5:30 p.m.

West Palm Beach police said the fire was ruled to be caused by arson based on witness statements and an investigation.

Police: House manager steals, pawns $100,000 worth of jewelry from Palm Beach home

A Palm Beach resident was robbed of $100,000 worth of jewelry by man who worked as her house manager, according to Palm Beach Police.

The 57-year-old homeowner reported several pieces of jewelry missing from her master bathroom of her home, on the northernmost street of the town, Sunday. She noticed that the service door on the west side of the home appeared to be broken into, according to police.

Police arrested 51-year-old house manager William Eric Taylor, who said he was the last one in the home before the burglary, on Tuesday morning. When police searched his pawn history, they noticed that Taylor sold 15 pieces of jewelry to South Florida Coins and Collectibles in North Palm Beach. He got $2,166 in exchange, according to the police report.

The manager of the pawn shop identified Taylor in a photo lineup, and the victim identified the missing jewelry, detectives said.

Taylor admitted to stealing and pawning the jewelry. He had access to the house, but pried the door open to make it seem like a burglary, he told police.

Taylor faces charges of burglary, grand theft, dealing in stolen property and false verification of ownership. He remains in Palm Beach County Jail awaiting $25,000 bail.

A West Palm Beach man is accused of attacking a clerk at a BP gas station, then violently resisting an officer’s attempt to arrest him early Tuesday, West Palm Beach Police report.

Steven Pizarro-Lopez, 3, was yelling over the price of beer around  6 a.m. Tuesday, then threw an unknown object at the 67-year-old clerk near the register. He hit the victim in the face, causing a bruise, the police report states.

Pizarro-Lopez then placed his hands near his waistband and threatened to kill the clerk. Other employees in the store fled as he continued to threaten the victim, according to police.

Pizarro-Lopez left the convenience store and headed north on Georgia Avenue. He was later stopped by police after employees reported the incident.

When an officer approached Pizarro-Lopez, he became “verbally aggressive” and started cursing at the officer, the report states. Pizarro-Lopez got into a fighting stance and threatened the officer, according to police.

The officer tried to tase Pizarro-Lopez once, but his clothes were too baggy. The officer tried again, but Pizarro-Lopez twisted his body around and grabbed the taser line, the officer said.

The officer eventually got Pizarro-Lopez to the ground and handcuffed him.

Pizarro-Lopez faces charges of assault on a person 65 years or older, assault on a police officer and resisting arrest with violence. He remains in Palm Beach County Jail awaiting $15,000 bail.

 

Man faces charges of defrauding high-end Palm Beach stores

A Broward man remains in the Palm Beach County Jail as he faces charges of using counterfeit credit cards to buy jewelry and other items worth thousands of dollars from stores on Palm Beach’s Worth Avenue.

Ronald Manukyan, a Hallandale resident and Russian native, faces 19 counts of fraud, grand theft and other charges and is being held in lieu of $50,000 bail.

Manukyan, 24, was arrested after the tag on his 2015 Mercedes Benz was red-flagged by the Town of Palm Beach’s license plate recognition system and alerted police.

Police arrested Manukyan for making a $19,080 purchase of photographic art from the Holden Luntz Gallery and buying a gold watch for $21,763.04 at Hublot. Manukyan also allegedly bought more than $5,000 worth of merchandise at Brioni clothing store and was denied another purchase of more than $5,000 at the same business. The Luntz Gallery, Hublot and Brioni are all located on Worth Avenue.

A search of the Mercedes turned up 14 counterfeit credit cards and one counterfeit driver’s license, police said.

In the driver’s side door pocket, three sheets of paper were recovered that detailed the addresses of high-end jewelry stores from Palm Beach to Coconut Grove in Miami-Dade County.

 

Police: Woman shot during armed robbery at Jupiter McDonald’s

Jupiter police are searching for a group of men after one shot a woman in the leg during an attempted robbery Friday morning, city police said.

The woman was in her car at the parking lot of a McDonald’s, 6760 West Indiantown Road, when she was approached by the group of men between the ages of 18 and 20, spokesman Ofc. Adam Brown said in a written statement.

One of the men flashed a firearm and demanded she give them her property, Brown said.

She was able to drive away after she was shot in the leg, causing a non-life threatening injury. She was taken to Jupiter Medical Center and released.

A West Palm Beach man was arrested Tuesday after picking up a 16-year-old and a 13-year-old in his car in Boynton Beach and inappropriately touching one of them against her will, Boynton Beach Police report.

Thomas Debasitis, 62, spotted the victims walking on Dixie Highway near 10th Avenue in Lake Worth around 6 p.m. He offered the 16-year-old $40 in exchange for letting him touch her breast, the report states. She agreed to let him touch her if he would drive her and her 13-year-old friend to Boynton Beach, she told police.

She never planned to actually let him touch her, she said. She also told Debasitis she was 19 years old and her friend was 15 years old, according to the police report.

The girls got into the car and Debasitis drove them to Boynton Beach, according to police. While driving to Boynton Beach, Debasitis touched the 16-year-old’s breast several times against her will, she told police.

When they arrived, the girls jumped from the car and fled. Debasitis later told police that he knew the victim was not 19 years old, because she looked 16.

Debasitis is charged with procuring prostitution from a person under 18 years old and lewd and lascivious behavior. He was released from Palm Beach County Jail on Wednesday on $6,000 bail.

Four Riviera Beach men were arrested Tuesday after conspiring to rob a home for money to “support their kids” and drugs, Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office reports.

Lavell Phillips, 21; Vernon Davis, 18; Rieshaun Garner, 19; and Taquan McClendon, 21, were all outside of a residence on West 34th Street around 11 a.m. Garner circled the residence while the other three suspects crouched behind a car parked nearby, PBSO reports.

The men showed signs that they were conspiring to rob the home, according to police. Riviera Beach S.W.A.T. surrounded the home shortly afterward, and the men all fled, according to the police report.

Phillips threw a handgun over the roof while fleeing, according to police. He also removed a black ski mask and dropped it onto a neighbor’s lawn.

When police caught the four boys, Davis, Phillips and Garner admitted they were planning to rob the residence. They said they were planning to use the money to help support their kids. They also said they knew there were drugs in the home that they wanted to steal from, according to the police report.

McClendon admitted only to going to the house to buy marijuana. He told police he ran because he saw police approaching.

Davis, Garner and McClendon are all charged with robbery and resisting arrest without violence. Phillips is charged with robbery with a weapon, resisting arrest without violence, displaying a firearm during felony, robbery and carrying a concealed firearm without a license.

They were all taken to Palm Beach County Jail.

PBSO: Man attacked grandmother, bit deputy during rampage in suburban Lake Worth

A 26-year-old man faces multiple charges after he allegedly attacked his grandmother, hit a security guard with a crow bar and bit a sheriff’s deputy on the hand last week in suburban Lake Worth.

Louis Manuel Marrugo was arrested Friday after Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office deputies reportedly found him hiding in a storage closet at the Fountains Country Club. He faces charges of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, burglary, aggravated battery on a security officer and battery on a law-enforcement officer.

He remained in custody at the Palm Beach County Jail Monday night  in lieu of $31,000 bail.

Deputies were called to a residence in the Fountains to investigate reports of a domestic disturbance. They met a woman who informed them that her grandson, later identified as Marrugo, threw a large glass flower vase that hit her and shattered, according to a probable-cause arrest affidavit made public Monday. Marrugo allegedly also hit his grandmother on the side of her head several times with a block candle.

Deputies and Fountains security guards spent about 30 minutes searching for Marrugo before tracking him to the storage room. Without provocation, he attacked a security officer with a crow bar, the affidavit said. A woman who saw Marrugo in the storage room told deputies he threatened kill her if she called security.

Deputies were able to take Marrugo into custody and placed him in handcuffs.  He spontaneously made angry comments about his grandmother locking him out of the home, the affidavit said. While in handcuffs, he managed to break free from deputies and reportedly tried to escape. Marrugo allegedly bit a deputy on the hand as the deputy tried to restrain him.

Deputies finally restrained him and took him to Wellington Regional Medical Center for medical clearance.

A family gathering for a birthday celebration landed a suburban West Palm Beach man in jail this weekend after he allegedly fired shots while trying to scare away a visitor.

Palm Beach County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Jean-March Philemond, 30, Sunday on one count of aggravated assault.  He was released from the Palm Beach County Jail Monday on $10,000 bail.

According to an arrest report, a group of siblings were gathered at an apartment on Wedgewood Way Sunday night. Philemond became upset when two people arrived. He left the residence and returned about an hour later. He went to his bedroom for about 20 minutes and then came out carrying a handgun. As Philemond stood in the doorway, he continuously racked the slide and fired rounds into the ground, the report said.

He did not point the gun at anyone. However, he went back to his bedroom to retrieve a baseball bat, the report said.

“Next time you step foot in this house I will bash your head with this bat,” he allegedly told one woman. Two people held Philemond down to stop him from hurting anyone, the affidavit said.

PBSO searches for escaped prisoner in Loxahatchee Groves

Authorities  are searching for a Loxahatchee Road Prison inmate who escaped custody this morning.

Philip Peletz was working outside of the prison near Okeechobee Boulevard and E Road when he walked off from the work area just before 10 a.m., according to the Florida Department of Corrections. K-9 units are currently searching the area for the 53-year-old.

Peletz is in prison on charges of theft and grand theft and was set to be released August 2018, according to the DOC website.

Anyone who sees Peletz is asked to call law enforcement or the DOC at 850-922-6867.

Four teens arrested in WPB attempted carjacking

WEST PALM BEACH –  Four teens are facing charges after they allegedly tried to rob and carjack a man in front of his apartment late Monday.

Police took Evol G. Roswest, 19, of West Palm Beach and three juveniles into custody.  They face charges of attempted carjacking and attempted robbery. Roswest was being held at the Palm Beach County Jail late Tuesday in lieu of $40,000 bail.

The Palm Beach Post is not identifying the other suspects because they are under the age of 18 and have not been charged as adults.

The alleged incident happened shortly after 10 p.m. Monday in the 500 block of 24th Street.  A 22-year-old man told police that he was exiting his vehicle and walking to his apartment when the four teens surrounded him.

The teens ordered the man to empty his pockets, police said. The man showed his pockets and told the teens that he did not have anything on him. One of  the teens reportedly demanded the man’s car keys and threatened to shoot if the man didn’t comply.

The man pleaded with the teens to leave and promised not to call police. The teens  decided to leave and quickly fled the area.

Officers found the suspects in the 2800 block of Pinewood. The accuser was brought to the area and identified the teens as his attackers, police said.

A Lake Worth man is facing several charges after he allegedly attacked his former girlfriend at a McDonald’s in Boca Raton, according to an arrest report.

Kenson Sanon was released from the Palm Beach County Jail on Sunday after posting an $11,000 bond on charges of kidnapping, domestic battery by strangulation, robbery by sudden snatching and criminal mischief under $200.

Sanon, 24, allegedly attacked his ex-girlfriend Saturday morning after she reported to work at the McDonald’s at 1776 N. Military Trail, the report said.

Police said that Sanon grabbed the woman by her shirt collar, cutting off her ability to breathe, and attempted to shove the woman into his car. Sanon also allegedly smashed the woman’s cell phone against the ground, pushed

over a display of Happy Meals then kicked and damaged an emergency exit door at the restaurant.

Sanon told police he confronted his ex-girlfriend in order to recover keys that belonged to his mother’s residence.

Riviera Beach seek persons of interest in connection to homicide

Rivera Beach police released photos of two persons on interest in connection to last weekend’s homicide of 45-year-old Stephen Griffith.

The two men spoke with Griffith shortly before he was fatally shot outside his apartment at about 5 a.m. Sunday. They were then seen running from the area.
