The victim, a 54-year-old woman, was walking towards her car in the 1300 block of West Linton Boulevard when she noticed that one of her tires was flat, the report said. Ryan and Leo were parked next to the woman and offered to help for money.
The woman agreed. As Ryan was removing a spare tire from the trunk, the woman noticed that items belonging to her fell out of the car belonging to Ryan and Leo, the report said. The woman then noticed her wallet, left on the driver’s seat of her car, was missing.
A struggle ensued between the victim and Leo during which Leo ripped an earring out of the woman’s ear, according to the report. As the women battled inside his car, Ryan jumped into the passenger seat and allegedly told the victim he was going to stab her with a syringe, the report said. Ryan then started the car and put it in reverse before the victim got out.
Ryan and Leo fled at a high rate of speed.
After her arrest, Leo admitted to stealing the woman’s purse, the report said.
Ryan told police he wanted the money taken from the victim to “get high one last time” before entering drug rehabilitation. Ryan also admitted he threatened to stab the woman with a syringe. A bloody syringe was found in the center console of Ryan’s vehicle, according to the report.
