A 17-year-old was just trying to stop his mom from drinking, and he would up getting cut by her, deputies said.

Christina Wilson, 48, of Boca Raton was charged Tuesday afternoon with cruelty towards a child, according to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office.
The victim, Wilson’s son, told deputies that his mom is an alcoholic, and that he took away her wine bottles to try to get her to stop drinking.
Wilson’s son told deputies that while he was in his room, his mom came in with a knife and sliced him on his forearm, resulting in a 1-centimeter cut that needed three stitches.
He was taken to an MD Now Clinic by his grandmother, where he was treated for his wound. At first, the teen was hesitant to discuss what had happened, for fear of retaliation and admitted to lying to his grandmother about the incident. He ended up telling the nurse about the incident, who then called the sheriff’s office.
Deputies went to the mother’s house and said they could detect an alcoholic beverage on her breath.
Wilson is still being held in jail, according to court records.
