After a two-year search, a Delray Beach man was arrested Tuesday afternoon after he beat up his then-pregnant girlfriend with the rearview mirror of her car.
Jarvis Brown, 32 got into an argument while driving with his girlfriend in May of 2014. When they stopped at a red light, he ripped the rearview mirror off the windshield and proceeded to beat his girlfriend, who was six months pregnant at the time. She covered her face and screamed for help.
The victims sister happened to be behind the car and had witnessed everything, according to the arrest report. She ran out of her car toward her sister. Brown took off in the victims car, and she reported it as stolen.
When police arrived on the scene, she was sobbing hysterically with a bloody item of clothing over her face, the report reads.
It is unclear where Brown fled to and how he eluded police for two years, but did tell the victim that if he ever got in trouble in Florida, he would flee to Georgia.
Brown was arrested by the Lantana police department and is yet to be released from jail. He is being charged with aggravated battery on a pregnant victim, and for grand theft less than $5,000.
