WEST PALM BEACH – A 34-year-old woman was arrested last weekend after she allegedly stabbed another woman during a domestic dispute.
Police arrested Sebrenda Grisby of West Palm Beach on Saturday on a charge of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon. She remained in custody at the Palm Beach Jail on Tuesday in lieu of $10,000 bail.
Officers responded early Saturday to investigate a disturbance at an apartment on Windsor Avenue. When they arrived, they encountered a woman whose left arm was bleeding. She told the officers that she had been stabbed and her attacker was inside, according to a police arrest report.
The officers went inside and reportedly found Grisby hiding in a closet. She opened the closet door and surrendered after police gave her several verbal commands, police said.
Grisby and her accuser gave differing accounts about the altercation. The accuser said Grisby stabbed her in the arm with a knife, then picked up a lamp and threw it at her. The lamp broke as the woman was on the ground, police said. The accuser told officers that Grisby became angry when the accuser rejected her advances.
The injured woman had an inch-long cut, police said. The arrest report does not indicate whether she sought medical attention.
Grisby told officers that the argument started after she returned home from a night out with friends. She alleged that the other woman tried to choke her and said she threw the lamp after the woman threw it at her.
