ROYAL PALM BEACH – An 18-year-old resident of The Acreage was arrested Sunday after he allegedly hit his girlfriend with a glass bottle.
Joshua A. Concepcion and his girlfriend reportedly got into an argument early Saturday after Concepcion found text messages from another man on the woman’s cellphone.
Palm Beach County sheriff’s deputies arrested Concepcion on a charge of aggravated domestic battery. The alleged incident took place near a shopping plaza in Royal Palm Beach, according to a sheriff’s arrest report.
Authorities say Concepcion and his girlfriend were traveling in the back seat of a car when he reached into her purse to retrieve her cellphone while she was sleeping.
After discovering the exchange of text messages, Concepcion grabbed his girlfriend and the two began pushing and shoving each other, deputies said.
The driver stopped in a shopping center at Lamstein Lane and State Road 80. Concepcion and his girlfriend got out and Concepcion allegedly ran after the woman, pushed her and then hit her on the side of the head with a glass beverage bottle.
Deputies observed a bruise on the woman’s head, the report said.
