Baker, 22, is facing charges of motor vehicle theft, possession of a weapon by a convicted felon and cocaine possession. Baker, of Riviera Beach, is being held at the Palm Beach County Jail in lieu of $33,000 bail.

Baker allegedly stole a 2014 GMC Sierra pickup Sunday outside a residence on the 200 block of West Blue Heron Boulevard. The pickup’s owner admitted to police he left the keys in the ignition as he unloaded groceries.

A Riviera Beach officer found the stolen vehicle parked outside of Well’s Recreation Gym at 2409 Avenue H.

The vehicle was still running and Baker was asleep behind the wheel, the report said. A loaded American Tactical 9mm handgun was next to Baker on the center console. Baker was removed from the vehicle and 2.1 grams of crack cocaine were found on the driver’s seat, the report said.

State records show that Baker was released from prison July 5 after being convicted and sentenced to 18 months on charges that included delinquent in possession of a firearm, burglary of an emergency vehicle and grand theft. He served just over 8 months before he was released.
