A Boynton Beach man carrying heroin was arrested Tuesday afternoon when he tried to flee from police, according to the Boynton Beach Police Department.
Donte McCray, 28, is charged with trafficking heroin, resisting arrest without violence and driving with a suspended license. He is scheduled to appear in court Thursday morning.

Police tried to pull over McCray when he cut off another car on North Seacrest Boulevard, near NE 10th Avenue. When he stopped, he got out of the truck, turned and looked at the officer and said, “C’mon,” before he ran off, according to the arrest report.
McCray ran through backyards and side streets for about two blocks and then reached for something in his waistband while looking back at the officer. As the officer thought McCray was reaching for a weapon, he un-holstered his and told McCray to stop.
McCray fell to the ground and continued to fumble with his waistband. The officer jumped on top of McCray trying to detain him, but he resisted, trying to kick the officer off of his back. The officer hit McCray in the side twice to get him to stop resisting.
As back-up arrived, they were able to detain McCray and found a clear plastic bag by him that contained capsules with 4.4 grams of heroin inside.
Police also discovered that McCray was driving with a suspended licence.
McCray has an arrest record dating back to 2011, when he was arrest for possession of paraphernalia. In 2013, he was arrested for battery on a pregnant women, and was released from jail on $5,000 bond.
