The 39-year-old victim told the deputies that she knew she was in trouble when she saw Fagot’s drive up in his mothers car. She told her three children and the one adult in the apartment to get upstairs as she locked all the doors to the residence. The area of the home was redacted from the arrest report.
Somehow, Fagot was able to get himself in, the victim told police, and she has no idea how he did it. He kicked down the door to the master bedroom and demanded the victim to tell him where his child was, according to the arrest report made public Wednesday. The victim asked him to leave while on the phone to the dispatcher but he refused.
When deputies arrived on the scene, a scream was heard from inside the house. The victim was on the phone with the dispatcher, who could hear her say, “put down the knife,” according to an arrest report.
The deputies tried to open the front door, but a deadbolt held it shut. Through the sliding glass door in the back, they could see Fagot and the victim talking heatedly, the arrest report reads. When police made their presence known, the assailant headed towards the front door, but was stopped by a deputy.
While searching Fagot, deputies found an open 2-inch flip knife. A search of the home showed that Fagot used another 4-inch knife to break in by prying open the deadbolt.
Fagot does not have a record of aggressive behavior, but was arrested for two burglaries in 1998 and one petit theft in 2002.
