An uncooperative victim twice foiled the alleged attempts at armed robbery by a Boynton Beach man in June, forcing the assailant to flee empty-handed, according to an arrest report.

Timothy Arnell White Jr., who court records show has served two prison stints, is facing charges of robbery with a firearm, aggravated assault with a weapon without intent to kill and possession of a firearm by a convicted criminal. White was arrested Friday and released Monday from the Palm Beach County Jail after posting a $15,000 bond.

White allegedly tried to rob the same man twice at gunpoint June 27 outside a grocery store at 1600 S. Dixie Highway in Lake Worth.
Surveillance video outside the store shows White twice confronting the 54-year-old victim with a handgun, according to the report. The victim told Palm Beach County sheriff’s deputies that White demanded his wallet each time.
On the first alleged robbery attempt, the victim walked back into the store and asked someone to call 911. When he went back outside and was again approached by the gun-toting White, the man walked back into the store and asked for a phone to call 911, the report said.
Nothing was stolen from the man.
Video shows White getting into his vehicle and leaving the scene after the second robbery attempt, the report said. Using facial recognition software, detectives were able to identify White.
Still images released to media outlets led two two tips from the public naming White as the suspect.
Records show that White served more than two years of a three-year sentence after he was found guilty of aggravated assault with a weapon in Leon County in March, 2013. White, 26, also spent more than a year in prison after a felony battery conviction in 2011.
