Two suburban Lake Worth men looking for a fight Wednesday were arrested after they allegedly broke into another man’s home.
Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office deputies charged Victor Tirado, 20, and Travis Webb, 18, with one count each of burglary. Tirado was being held without bail at the Palm Beach County Jail on Thursday, while Webb was being held in lieu of $25,000 bail.
Deputies say Tirado and Webb went to a home on Springfield Lake Drive to confront a 20-year-old man who lives in the Lake Charleston subdivision.
The accuser told deputies he was in his home at about 11:15 a.m. Wednesday when he heard two men trying to get in. The man said he looked out his bedroom door and could see Tirado and Webb in the hallway. The man said he did not know why they were there.
Later in the day, deputies found Tirado and Webb in other locations. Tirado declined to speak, but Webb agreed to give a statement, according to a probable-cause arrest affidavit.
Webb allegedly told deputies his accuser had made threats against him via text messages and on social media. According to the arrest affidavit, Webb told deputies he and the accuser had arranged to fight Wednesday. He said he asked Tirado to come with him because the accuser is known to have weapons or friends with him.
Webb and Tirado reportedly knocked on the man’s door and argued with him before the man closed and locked the door. Webb, Tirado and a woman accompanying them then went to the back of the home and removed a screen from an unlocked window, the affidavit said. The three reportedly then entered the home, went upstairs and knocked on a door. When they heard the man speaking to someone on the telephone, they ran downstairs and fled from the house, Webb reportedly told deputies.
The arrest affidavit does not indicate whether the woman who accompanied Tirado and Webb will face charges.
