A 48-year-old West Palm Beach music instructor is facing charges after he allegedly molested a teenage girl during a singing lesson.
Derrick Houston was arrested Saturday on one count of lewd or lascivious molestation of a minor. He was being held at the Palm Beach County Jail on Tuesday in lieu of $25,000 bail.

The girl told West Palm Beach police she met with Houston for the voice lesson. Houston massaged the girl’s neck and then molested her, according to a police arrest report made public Monday. The girl told officers she was scared, so she sat still while Houston touched her.
He eventually stopped and the girl waited for someone to pick her up. After leaving the lesson location, the girl and an adult contacted police. Investigators monitored a phone call between Houston and the girl.
During the call, Houston allegedly told the girl: “I’m sorry for any of this and that from the bottom of my heart.”
After being taken into custody, Houston denied that he did anything wrong, police said.
