WEST PALM BEACH –  Four teens are facing charges after they allegedly tried to rob and carjack a man in front of his apartment late Monday.

Police took Evol G. Roswest, 19, of West Palm Beach and three juveniles into custody.  They face charges of attempted carjacking and attempted robbery. Roswest was being held at the Palm Beach County Jail late Tuesday in lieu of $40,000 bail.

The Palm Beach Post is not identifying the other suspects because they are under the age of 18 and have not been charged as adults.

The alleged incident happened shortly after 10 p.m. Monday in the 500 block of 24th Street.  A 22-year-old man told police that he was exiting his vehicle and walking to his apartment when the four teens surrounded him.

The teens ordered the man to empty his pockets, police said. The man showed his pockets and told the teens that he did not have anything on him. One of  the teens reportedly demanded the man’s car keys and threatened to shoot if the man didn’t comply.

The man pleaded with the teens to leave and promised not to call police. The teens  decided to leave and quickly fled the area.

Officers found the suspects in the 2800 block of Pinewood. The accuser was brought to the area and identified the teens as his attackers, police said.
