A Broward man remains in the Palm Beach County Jail as he faces charges of using counterfeit credit cards to buy jewelry and other items worth thousands of dollars from stores on Palm Beach’s Worth Avenue.

Ronald Manukyan, a Hallandale resident and Russian native, faces 19 counts of fraud, grand theft and other charges and is being held in lieu of $50,000 bail.

Manukyan, 24, was arrested after the tag on his 2015 Mercedes Benz was red-flagged by the Town of Palm Beach’s license plate recognition system and alerted police.

Police arrested Manukyan for making a $19,080 purchase of photographic art from the Holden Luntz Gallery and buying a gold watch for $21,763.04 at Hublot. Manukyan also allegedly bought more than $5,000 worth of merchandise at Brioni clothing store and was denied another purchase of more than $5,000 at the same business. The Luntz Gallery, Hublot and Brioni are all located on Worth Avenue.

A search of the Mercedes turned up 14 counterfeit credit cards and one counterfeit driver’s license, police said.

In the driver’s side door pocket, three sheets of paper were recovered that detailed the addresses of high-end jewelry stores from Palm Beach to Coconut Grove in Miami-Dade County.
