Officers were called shortly before 4:30 p.m. Wednesday to an apartment in the 5500 block of Haverhill Road. A woman told them that her boyfriend had attacked her, according to an arrest report made public Thursday.

Bell allegedly accused the woman of having a relationship with another man and told her to move out. He then grabbed her by the neck and pushed her to the ground, police said. He allegedly climbed on top of the woman and hit her multiple times before she grabbed a knife in self-defense.

The woman left the apartment and Bell followed and grabbed her arm, police said. The woman reportedly broke free and made her way to the area where police met her.
