A man hit his 70-year-old mother in the head Thursday night in a suburban Boca Raton Wal-Mart, the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office said.
Why? She was talking to another customer, 41-year-old Van Nguyen Dang told deputies.

Dang hit his mother twice in the head and grabbed her arm, a witness told deputies. The woman yelled, “Someone call cop,” the witness said. Several employees at the Wal-Mart, on Glades Road near State Road 7, separated the son and mother before deputies arrived.
Dang, of Boca Raton, is charged with battery, according to court records. He was released on his own recognizance Friday, court records show.
