The alleged attack took place Aug. 4 and occurred in the parking lot of a Buick dealership on the 3000 block of Okeechobee Boulevard. The victim was bent down, detailing the tires of his vehicle when Lark allegedly smashed him in the side of the face with an unknown object, the report said.

Lark and a second man, an employee of the Buick dealership, had walked over to the victim and asked for money, the report said. The man didn’t understand English well and ignored the pair. That’s when Lark allegedly struck him.

Both men fled the scene in a vehicle.

On Aug. 18, West Palm Beach detectives met with the employee of the Buick dealership. The man said he was picked up by Lark after work because he needed a ride home. The employee is named in the report, but was not arrested.

The victim was able to identify Lark as his attacker. Besides the broken jaw and teeth, the injured man had trouble breathing and was left with permanent disfigurement, the report said.

Lark, accompanied by his father, went to the West Palm Beach Police Department on Thursday, where he denied hitting the victim but declined to answer the questions of detectives. He was taken into custody.
