When a sheriff’s deputy approached the home after reports of a domestic dispute, Juan sped away in gray Ford work van while two women screamed, “Run, run, he has a gun!” according to a deputy’s report.
Juan is being held in the Palm Beach County Jail on a $38,500 bond, according to court records, on charges of aggravated assault, possessing a weapon as a convicted felon and battery.
According to court records, Juan was convicted of burglary and grand theft in November.
Witnesses said Juan had been drinking with friends before coming home. When his friend wanted to keep drinking Juan grabbed a rifle and threatened to kill him, according to a sheriff’s office report.
The two entered the residence, where the victim locked himself in a room, according to the sheriff’s office report. When he left the room, Juan repeatedly punched him in the face and continued threats to kill him.
When law enforcement arrived, Juan led them on a 15-minute chase through the city of Lake Worth with “no regard for other driver’s safety,” according to a sheriff’s office report. The chase ended at the home just east of Interstate 95 in Lake Worth.
