A 19-year-old West Palm Beach man is accused of threatening to give the “death penalty” to a man who kissed his ex-girlfriend at a party.

West Palm Beach police arrested Oliver Holmes Perry Saturday in connection with an alleged attack this month at a house party on Murray Road. He faces one count of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon after he allegedly smashed a beer bottle into the back of a 19-year-old man’s head. Perry was released from the Palm Beach County Jail Sunday on $3,000 bail.

According to police, Perry was angry because his former girlfriend kissed the other man during a party on the night of June 3.

Later that night, Perry allegedly sent threatening text messages to his ex’s new suitor, telling the man “I know where you live you walking (expletive) corpse” and “I’m getting the death penalty for your (expletive).”

Perry also warned that the other man should beg for his life, police said.

On the night of June 9, both men went to a house party on Murray Road. The other man reportedly went outside to try to distance himself from Perry. Perry followed him and began to behave in an aggressive manner, police said.

As others tried to restrain him, Perry allegedly smashed a beer bottle against the back of the other teen’s head.

During the course of the investigation, police officers went to Perry’s home Friday to question him about the incident. He declined to make any statements, according to the arrest report.
