Three people were robbed of their iPhones in just 24 hours at a gated off-campus student housing complex near Florida Atlantic University, Boca Raton Police say.
On Saturday and Sunday, three people reported having either their phones or wallets stolen by groups of men who approached them in the parking lot at night. It happened at University View Student Housing, a privately owned complex for students just one block east of FAU’s campus.

The first victim left a party at the complex with friends at about 12:30 a.m. and was approached by four men who asked him if he wanted to buy drugs, police say. He declined, then was attacked and his iPhone stolen.
About 45 minutes later, a man and his friends were approached by two men who asked to borrow his cellphone. He handed his iPhone over and the men fled. The victim offered to buy his phone back for $500 and took out his wallet.
The robbers grabbed the wallet and again ran, according to police.
The next day, another victim was again leaving a party with friends when he was confronted by five to seven men. The men attacked him and took his phone, police say.
