A 25-year-old West Palm Beach man remained in jail Monday after he allegedly attacked his girlfriend during the weekend.

West Palm Beach police arrested Bonifacio C. Ramirez Saturday on a charge of aggravated battery. He was being held at the Palm Beach County Jail in lieu of $25,000 bail.

The alleged attack happened at about 9:30 p.m. Saturday at a residence in the 3400 block of Greenwood Avenue.  According to police, Ramirez got into an argument with his 19-year-old girlfriend, accusing her of having another boyfriend.

When the woman started to walk away, Ramirez followed and hit her twice in the face, police said. The woman then ran outside. Ramirez allegedly ran after her and kicked her several times on her legs, back, face and the back of her head.

The woman temporarily lost consciousness. She later police that she could not remember much after she woke up.
