A Greenacres man is facing a charge of misusing the 911 system after making his 14th call to Palm Beach Gardens police since September to say a man was following him.
Brian Parker reportedly told the dispatcher early Tuesday that the man was hiding behind bushes near the intersection of Burns Road and Riverside Drive, as he had during previous calls, according to an arrest report made public Wednesday. Police found no man there and arrested Parker.
Parker, 32, was released on his own recognizance later Tuesday. According to police, his 13 calls to city dispatchers began Sept. 16 and he has used the same story each time.
He previously was warned about misusing the 911 system, and was arrested in a prior instance in late September. He was arrested in that case, and a judge assessed him court courts and gave him credit for 17 days served in jail, court records said.
