RIVIERA BEACH — Two Riviera Beach women are facing charges after they allegedly fought Tuesday morning with a third woman whom they said had stolen medication.
City police arrested Rosyce A. Dixon and Tresca D. Washington, both 43, on multiple charges. Dixon was released from the Palm Beach County Jail Wednesday on her own recognizance, while Washington was released on $3,000 bail.
Police responded at about 11:30 a.m. Tuesday to reports of a fight in progress on West 26th Street north of Blue Heron Boulevard. According to an arrest report made public Wednesday, a 32-year-old woman told police the argument began on West 32nd Street, where Washington and Dixon accused her of stealing medication.
She alleged that Washington hit her over the head with an empty vase and threatened her with a broom stick. She got into her car to leave, but Dixon followed her and got into the passenger seat, police said. Dixon tried take the keys from the ignition, but the woman drove away with her still in the vehicle.
Dixon finally removed the key and the car stopped on 26th Street. The accuser reportedly told officers she then pulled out a knife, which Dixon then tried to take from her.
Washington and Dixon alleged the younger woman instigated the attack. Washington alleged that Dixon, whom she described as her sister, was stabbed and cut on her ring finger.
Dixon reportedly told officers the younger women threatened her with the knife and used the vase to threaten Washington. All three women were taken to the police station to provide recorded statements.
The accuser was later arrested for failing to appear in court in an unrelated traffic case. She was released Wednesday on $2,000 bail, jail records show.
