Troy Tindal’s interaction Tuesday with a West Palm Beach police officer could have ended with a simple trespass warning, according to a report.

Instead, Tindal is being held in the Palm Beach County Jail without bond and is facing multiple felony charges.

Police were conducting extra patrols Tuesday under the Palm Beach Lakes Boulevard Bridge in the 1300 block of Henrietta Avenue after a run of shootings and drug crimes in the area, according to an arrest report. There are a number of “no loitering” signs around the area.

An officer made contact around 1:50 p.m. with Tindal, 28, who was told he could not loiter under the bridge and given a trespass warning. Less than 30 minutes later, the officer returned and found Tindal lying under the bridge around 15 yards from his previous location, the report said.

Tindal was told to leave,  but stated that he was “not going nowhere,” the report said. After Tindal was placed in handcuffs, the officer said he found a stun gun in his right front pocket.

At the police station, a small, clear baggy containing cocaine was found in Tindal’s right sock, the report said.

After being taken to the jail, Tindal was told that because he was out on bond on unrelated charges and was facing a weapon charge, he was not eligible to be released on bond.

Tindal, who is homeless, became irate and allegedly threatened the arresting officer.

“I thought I was getting a misdemeanor,” Tindal said to the officer, according to the report. “(Expletive), you’re gonna get yours. I’m gonna burn your (expletive).”

Ask if he was threatening the officer, Tindal allegedly replied: “Not only is it a threat, I promise you that I’m going to get your (expletive).”

Tindal finished by threatening to kill the officer’s children.

The arrest report notes that Tindal has been arrested around 25 times and has nine felony convictions. Records show that Tindal has served several stints in jail.

He is facing charges of possession of a weapon by a convicted felon, possession of cocaine, armed trespassing and making threats against a public servant.
