A man who barricaded himself in a Jupiter townhome for more than 20 hours this week
was given a bail Thursday in court. If he makes the bond, he will be held on house arrest.
As of Thursday evening, Cyrus Ahyoung had not posted the $60,000 bond, according to Palm Beach County Sheriff’s booking blotter website. If he is released, he will be put on house arrest and must wear an ankle monitor. It is unclear if the home will be the same residence he barricaded himself in.
Jupiter Police said Ahyoung barricaded himself in townhome on Cat Rock Lane in the Abacoa neighborhood west of Military Trail “heavily armed” between Sunday and Monday afternoon. The day before, he held his girlfriend and her children captive at gunpoint for at least two hours Saturday threatening to kill them all because he didn’t feel appreciated, according to the police report.
The family was in court Thursday, but did not speak with the media.
